GUTTERSNIPE / PETRONN SPHENE / TRISTWCH Y FENYWOD NEWS!!

Wel ‘rArgol fawr! Mae hi wedi bod yn amser digon hir ers y tro ‘de!! Apologies to anyone who has been desperately wondering wether I’ve ceased operations entirely, I can gladly inform you that I am STILL HERE and as bustling as ever. I will endeavour to be more “ON IT” with keeping this thing updated in the future!!

A great myriad of things took place in 2025, which seems needless to detail here since they are BUT DUST of past and memory now, perhaps I will add a “PAST GIGS” section to the website to inform you all should you desire this elucidation!! But until then, gad i ni canolbwyntio ar y PRESENNOL/DYFODOL agos!

First things first: GUTTERSNIPE released our first new album in 8 years, which is called “Extinction Burst!” and was put out into the world by our dearly beloved Michael Kasparis on his Night School record label. It is making it’s way around the globe -lettuce know if your remote outpost has yet to see glimpse of it and I will see what can be done to remedy this!!

We are playing various gigs across UK and EU, of which currently confirmed:

JUNE 6TH - Brussels, BE (La Perle)

JUNE 7TH/8TH - Paris, FR (Instants Chavirés supporting Melt Banana) - SOLD OUT!

AUGUST 29TH - Glasgow (Night School Records festival/Fairfield Social club) - Tristwch Y Fenywod also plays on this day!!

OCTOBER 3RD - Lisbon, PT (OUT festival)

Petronn Sphene has a new album coming out, with 6 new completely deranged hyperkinetic HARDTRAX bursting with manic queer lust, lamentation and lunacy!! Pure transsexual terror conveyed through stumbling, spasmodic beats and electronics YN HERCIOG with the shrillest absurd squeals you’ll ever hear a T-Girl make !!! There will be a listening party later this month, get in touch if you wanna be included! Not got a label yet but gonna pitch it to some real soon.

The Ephemeron Loop is playing it’s first gig in nearly 2 years in BLACKPOOL of all places on JUNE 28TH alongside Mica Levi, Leyland Kirby, A Guy Called Gerald etc for THE BLACK LIGHTS fest!!!

Y digyffelyb RHYS TRIMBLE a finnau created a concept record about the old kingdom of Elfed/Elmet (The last Brythonic speaking kingdom of Yr Hen Ogledd/The Old North until the 7th century where Celtic forces were massacred at the battle of Y Gododdin, where all remaining Brythonic speaking Britons were driven west into the area that is now Wales. Elfed/Elmet was located in what is now West Yorkshire. Since I originate from North Wales and ended up in Leeds, we felt this was a most apt topic for a playful, deeply autistic psycho-geo-mytho-poetic investigation and as such we used the corpus of medieval strict meter Welsh poetry (which is pretty much the entirety of evidence for the existence of Elfed/Elmet) alongside textbooks on prehistory and biology to guide a series of improvisations with primitive electronics and voice, which I then edited into an album. It is going to be released on the label DIFFICULT ART AND MUSIC later this summer!

I ORFFEN/TO CONCLUDE:

I have also been playing quite a lot in an improvised rock duo called SWIMMING WRAITH with the indomitable Steve Pifco of PIFCO/ANTIMONOPOLY TRASHMAN etc if any Leeds DIY heads remember… We have a new thing out called “Stay Determined” which is up on the Arcane Pariah bandcamp, along with a music video!!! We are as ever, looking for gigs, so get in touch please!
